Invoicing detailing work
Price packages by vehicle size (car, SUV, truck or van) and list add-ons separately: pet hair, stain extraction, odor treatment, engine bay, headlights, paint correction and coatings. Record the vehicle and its condition, and for mobile detailing, the address. For coatings, note the product and its care instructions. Collect on completion for retail customers; dealerships and fleets usually pay monthly.
Frequently asked questions
Should I charge extra for very dirty cars?
Yes. Add a line for excessive dirt, sand or pet hair, and tell the customer before you start.
Do I need to note damage before detailing?
It’s good practice: note existing scratches and dents, ideally with photos, before work begins.
How do I bill dealerships?
One monthly invoice listing each vehicle by stock number or VIN and the service done.
