What every invoice template includes
Your business name and contact details; the client’s details; a unique invoice number; the invoice date and due date; each item or service with quantity, rate and amount; subtotal, tax and total; payment terms and how to pay. The trade templates add what that trade needs, such as a VIN on an auto repair invoice, a claim number on a roofing invoice, or retainage on a construction pay application.

Which format is best for sending an invoice?
PDF. Whatever you make the invoice in, send it as a PDF: it looks the same on every device and the client can’t change it by accident.
Can I use these templates in Google Docs and Google Sheets?
Yes. The Word file opens in Google Docs and the Excel file opens in Google Sheets, with the formulas working. Each format page explains how.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. In Word, Excel or Google Docs, insert your logo at the top. In the online generator, upload it once and it prints on every invoice.
Do the templates work outside the US?
Yes. The examples are in US dollars, but the online generator works in any currency, with VAT or GST, on A4 or US Letter paper.
