What a demolition estimate must cover
- Permits and utility disconnects (gas, electric, water, sewer).
- Hazardous materials: federal rules require inspecting for asbestos before most demolition; abatement is separate.
- Method and equipment: hand demolition, excavator, or selective interior work.
- Disposal: dumpsters, tonnage and recycling.
- Site restoration: fill, grading, seeding.
Frequently asked questions
Is the foundation included?
Say so either way; slab and foundation removal is a big cost.
Who arranges utility disconnects?
Usually the owner, before the permit is issued. State it in the estimate.
What if asbestos is found?
A licensed abatement contractor removes it before demolition, priced separately.
