Estimating garage doors
Name the door’s size, material, insulation (R-value), style and windows, and the opener’s drive type. For repairs, list each part, such as springs, cables, rollers and openers, with the labor. Spring replacement is dangerous for homeowners, so many customers call for it; quote springs by cycle rating. Offer upgrades as options.
Frequently asked questions
Should springs be replaced in pairs?
Usually, yes: the other spring is close to failing too.
Is the opener included?
Say so either way; many customers keep their existing opener.
How long is the estimate valid?
30 days is common.
