Estimating gutters
Measure the roof edges that need gutters and the downspout runs. Name the size (5 or 6 inches), material and thickness, and color. Guards and fascia repair are the usual add-ons. Larger roofs and steep pitches may need 6-inch gutters and bigger downspouts. Often sold alongside a new roof: see the roofing estimate template.
Frequently asked questions
5-inch or 6-inch gutters?
5-inch suits most homes; 6-inch handles large or steep roofs and heavy rain.
Are guards worth quoting?
Offer them as an option; many homeowners want less cleaning.
What about fascia damage?
Price it per linear foot as found, since it’s often hidden behind old gutters.
