Estimating a kitchen remodel
Cabinets are usually the largest cost, followed by countertops and labor. Estimate cabinets per linear foot by grade (stock, semi-custom, custom) and countertops per square foot by material. Keep appliances separate, since many owners buy their own. Moving the sink, range or walls adds plumbing, electrical, venting and possibly structural work. List allowances clearly, and add a contingency for what demolition reveals.
