Quoting painting by room
Clients understand rooms better than square feet, so quote each room as a fixed price, built from your area and labor calculations. Say what’s included in each: walls, ceilings, trim, doors, closets. Name the paint and sheen and the number of coats. For exterior jobs, quote by elevation or the whole house, and list prep such as scraping and priming.
Use the painting estimate template to show square-foot pricing instead.
From accepted quote to invoice
A quote is a fixed offer: once the client accepts it in writing, by signing it or replying to say yes, both sides are bound by its price and scope. Keep the accepted copy. When the work is done, open the quote in the free quote maker and switch it to Invoice, or start from the painting invoice template. Anything the client added later goes on its own line.
